Antisemitism is the oldest hatred and is unique in how it targets the Jewish people. It was pervasive in ancient Egyptian, Persian, Greek, and Roman cultures. Unfortunately, it also developed in the early church and has been prevalent throughout Christian history. Antisemitic theology contributed to Christian complicity and/or apathy in the face of the Holocaust, and it continues to manifest in the church and society in general.
Today's young adults are particularly influenced by anti-Jewish, anti-Israel, and anti-Christian ideals promoted on secular campuses and through social media. They are often intimidated into silence—if not acquiescence—by progressive faculty members who encourage anti-Zionism. Even students on conservative Christian campuses cannot avoid the influence of antisemitism on social media. This course on antisemitism provides essential education for anyone who wants to be better equipped to counter antisemitism and anti-Zionism in today's rapidly changing culture.
